Because of its tropical climate, like other exotic destinations, Bangkok is subject to a rainy seasons and is around September. Average Summer temperatures are in the early 30s and what better way to enjoy it that after some culture in the city, heading out to one of the islands for a beach holiday.

A number of must see tourist sights and activities are the Grand Palace and the incredible temples of Wat Pho and Wat Arun. Wat Pho is one of the oldest Wats in Bangkok with more than 1,000 Buddha images including the famous reclining Buddha.

One must see event in Bangkok is the Bangkok Songkran Festival which takes place in the middle of April and is the Thai New Year. Of course, no Thai festival is complete without a beauty contest and the Miss Songkran contest is definitely one to watch.
